CALL FOR FEDERAL BAN AGAINST HORSE SLAUGHTER

We the people of the United States of America and our friends around the world consider horses to be the Majestic Icon of the freedom of this nation. This great nation was founded on horseback. Territories were explored and established by brave souls carried on the backs of horses. Wars were won by the blood, sweat, and tears of man and horse alike.

The unity between man and horse is symbolic of the unity of the people and states of our nation in our heroic quest for freedom. It is a sad reflection of the immorality and faithlessness of our government when the descendants of loyal servants and war horses are butchered and cast aside as common refuse.

The Ulysses S. Grant Memorial sits at the base of Capital Hill in Washington DC and depicts him astride his faithful war horse "Cincinnati." It is the fourth largest equestrian statue in the world and surely visible to you, as it it to the eyes of the public.

We call upon you to honor and uphold the covenant forged between man and horse during the birth of our nation by banning equine slaughter in the United States of America.
