OVRIDE Gov. Christie's veto on fracking waste.

  • by: Ann Kelly
  • recipient: Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey

Toxic fracking waste is NOT OK in our drinking water! This stuff contains arsenic, lead, toluene and even radioactive radium-226.

We have just a month before the Fracking Waste Ban comes to a vote. This legislation would ban the processing, treatment, and disposal of dangerous fracking waste in New Jersey. Despite overwhelming bi-partisan support in Congress, Governor Christie vetoed the Ban.

We're locking in the last few votes in support of the waste ban and we need you to MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!

In Pennsylvania, doctors are fighting gag rules of the chemicals used to frack. Patients with oozing facial wounds living near the natural gas drilling sites had phenol and hippuric acid in their urine, two contact irritants rarely found in humans. The patients improved after they stopped drinking water from their underground wells. This dangerous extraction is not regulated and the industry does not have to clean up their mess, nor are they accountable to local ordinances or the EPA. We can't let that happen here!

Food & Water Watch and our allies are holding a Call-In Day on the 15th across the state. Can you help us by calling your legislator(s) to Ban Fracking Waste?

Example:Legislator: Senator Diane Allen
Number to Call: (856) 314-8835
Message: "Hi, my name is ___, I'm calling for Senator Diane Allen. I want to thank you for your past support of the Fracking Waste Ban and urge you to take leadership on the issue. I am very concerned about the danger fracking waste poses to my drinking water and the health of our communities. Please stand strong for a Ban on Fracking Waste and override Governor Christie's veto. Thank you!"
