I had a stoat in my cage is mine for making dry meat. It is not where it should and the stoat smelled the meat and this cage is open behind in here. It went in and didn't get immediately how to get out. It was so fast that I let the ”camera sing” and I only got one picture where the stoat was. When it figured out how to get out it was in an eye blick gone.

The finnish stoat is so fast animal that it's almost impossible to get a photo of it.

It's very hard to see a stoat because if it stand up somere , the next second it is in another place. Stoat as beatiful it is, is an awful beast which kill much bigger mammals than it self is. Anyway it is beautiful to see and I didn't know it is here before I was sitting next to my computer always camera ready for photos. (Also reindeers visit here almost every day.)

The difference between Stoat and Weasel is only in winter to be seen stoat has black tail fron the half to the last point and weasel is all white, I have seen that too. It is not so fast and not so scared than stoat.

It is not endangered but threatened because of habitatloss.
