Justice for Shaktiman...

All of us know what happened in the Dehradun protest, held by the state BJP unit against the Harish Rawat government. The horse Shaktiman, who was allegedly hit by the BJP MLA from Mussourie, Ganesh Joshi, had to go through a 4 hour long leg surgery. It was an open comminuted fracture. The surgery took place in a tent across the horse's enclosure. The horse will only be able to walk by April-end.

The issue now is, that the whole thing is turning into a political turmoil. Ganesh Joshi claims that he did not hit the animal but targeted the road instead, during which the horse's rear leg got stuck in a railing. Some suggest that it was a drainage cover which got stuck on his leg. Ganesh Joshi also said that he is an animal lover and would like to adopt the horse. He reckons that there is a conspiracy by Congress behind the videos which showed his act.

Now the fact is, we animal lovers really don't care whether it is a conspiracy or whether the rally was a success or BJP or the Congress is at fault, etc etc. All we care about is the animal, which was injured in this entire act of stupidity. Therefore, it is our request to the government to please pay attention to this horrifying situation and do justice to the horse. The MLA should be punished for hitting the horse or even for scaring it away by hitting the road, because an animal lover will always know how not to harm an animal. It is also necessary to bring strict laws in place for cruelty against animals, whether for the ones serving the government or for those sharing this planet with us. We are already disappointed about many other human issues this country has to see daily. Request the politicians to at least stay away from the innocent animals.

I request all animal lovers to sign this petition for Shaktiman and for the future of animals in India. We need to be the voice of these innocent souls...
