Congress shouldn't get paid during a shutdown! Pass the "No Government No Pay Act!"

Thanks to extremist anti-choice Republicans in Congress, we might be just days away from another government shutdown.

That's right - Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Ted Cruz, and their cronies are telling Americans that we can't have a functioning government if we won't let them defund Planned Parenthood.

During 2013's shutdown, 800,000 Americans were furloughed without pay. Sign the petition today: If Congress will once again ban people from their jobs by refusing to do its own, then it should go without pay too!

These men - and it's almost all men - are hellbent on attacking women's rights at the cost of our country's government. Never mind that Planned Parenthood helps millions of women and men with dozens of major health issues, including cancer screenings, counseling, and birth control, every year.

Never mind that the last shutdown cost 120,000 jobs and slashed the economy by $25 billion.

Never mind that a government shutdown means the EPA and national parks will close, that there can't be any new mortgages or small business loans, and that cancer research and food safety inspections will have to be put on hold.

Real Americans. Real jobs. Real lives. All just a game to the anti-choice Republicans in Congress.

Tell Congress: Pass Rep. Rick Nolan's "No Government No Pay Act of 2015" that says if members of Congress shut down the government, they won't get paid either!

If the government gets shut down - especially over something as ridiculous as defunding women's health centers like Planned Parenthood - that means Congress didn't do its job. And if Congress is going to prevent hundreds of thousands of American government workers from doing their job by refusing to do its own, then it shouldn't get paid, either.
