Keep Pietro In PK!

We were reassured that no one would be forced to move to Madiba. Yet, three days before returning to AC, we found out that Pietro Barba Navaretti will be moving against his will.

Here are some issues:

1) Moving him without his consent is unfair.

Not only were his wishes undermined but he was also informed a mere three days before returning to school.

2) It was a breach of his privacy.

The information of his move was made available publicly (on iSAMS) the very same day he was notified, meaning that he barely had any time to absorb the information without being bombarded by speculation and rumours from his peers.

3) It will not do any good.

If this is a form of punishment in hopes of Pietro improving his engagement in school and behaviour, it will cause more bad than good. Will he be more motivated if he were put in an environment without his closest friends, of whom are his support networks and stress relievers? The answer is, quite frankly, no. It will only strain his academic and pastoral ability.

4) Moving him does not tackle the issue.

If the issue is to do with his behaviour, the school has not done anything to understand the reasons behind his behaviour. They merely punish without considering the underlying issue. Providing better support would be more beneficial to him than punishing. The school claims to be providing such support, yet with weak mental health facilities — that can be understandably difficult.

5) For lack of better words, PK will never be the same.

Pietro plays a key role in the dynamics of PK house. He is essential to the familiar atmosphere of the house and we, as a house, would do everything in our power to keep him in PK.

Help us fight for Pietro to stay in PK by signing this petition and include a reason as to why you believe he should not be moved.
