Ask Judge to Reconsider Hunting Wolves with Dogs

  • By: Animal Advocates
  • Target: Wisconson Dane County Circuit Judge, Peter Anderson

Recently, Judge Anderson removed the injunction that banned the use of dogs for hunting wolves. ACT 169, allows for hunters to pursue wolves with up to six dogs.

On the note of science, the wolf, (Canis lupus) is of the same species as the domestic dog, (Canis lupus familiaris). According to DNA studies, domestic dogs owe their origins to the wolf.

Dog-fighting is an activity in which dogs are bred, and conditioned to fight each other. The fights can leave a dog seriously injured or can result in the death of the animal. Dog fighting is punishable as a felony in all 50 states.

We ask the Judge to reconsider if hunting wolves with dogs is really not just a gloried, legal dog fight- a blood sport that is a felony in every state, including Wisconson, since wolf hunting is already considered a "sport".  Animals are not weapons.
