Comments from parents receiving services at maria's Family Home Daycare:

HOW THIS PROVIDER MEETS OUR PARENTAL NEEDS?

  • The desirability of a Home-like atmosphere, closely resembling the parent's own home.
  • The availability of care for mixed age groups in the same program, offering great learning experiences from each other as they grow.
  • The convenience of having siblings together in one group, the bonding and building of communication.
  • Closer proximity to child's own home, cutting down on transportation costs and time.
  • The need for flexible scheduling due to odd hour jobs and last minute overtime requirements of the parent's job.
  • A consistent caregiver for several years as compared to having a different teacher each year, gives the child a better bonding and care.
  • Maria has met the need for a family support acting in the role as an extended family.

Therefore closing Maria's Family Home Daycare will affect no only her outstanding job caring for the children in our community, it also affects parents by limiting our available choices of care for our children.
