We, the undersigned, petition the Rochester, Minnesota City Council to ban the sale and use of herbicide preparations containing the toxic, and potentially carcinogenic, chemicals Glyphosate (Sold as RoundUp and many other trade names) and 2-4D (which is one ingredient in the famous Agent Orange defoliant) within the city limits of Rochester, Minnesota.
The abuse of these herbicides is out of control in the Rochester area, and it is already having noticeable health impact on the citizens and pets. The parks and forestry departments use these chemicals indiscriminately, and without warning of the risk to the citizens. These government organizations have immunity, and will not be held accountable for the damage done, so banning these chemicals before it is too late is the only viable option.
Rochester, Minnesota is home to the world famous Mayo Clinic. People from all over the world become long term patients at this clinic. There is no place for use of chemicals with such severe health risks in a city which is based on the medical industry and health care practice.
Please join me in speaking up at the Rochester Minnesota City Council Meeeting...
