Ban the Sale and Use of Glyphosate and 2-4D herbicides in Rochester Minnesota

We, the undersigned, petition the Rochester, Minnesota City Council to ban the sale and use of herbicide preparations containing the toxic, and potentially carcinogenic, chemicals Glyphosate (Sold as RoundUp and many other trade names) and 2-4D (which is one ingredient in the famous Agent Orange defoliant) within the city limits of Rochester, Minnesota.

The abuse of these herbicides is out of control in the Rochester area, and it is already having noticeable health impact on the citizens and pets. The parks and forestry departments use these chemicals indiscriminately, and without warning of the risk to the citizens. These government organizations have immunity, and will not be held accountable for the damage done, so banning these chemicals before it is too late is the only viable option.

Rochester, Minnesota is home to the world famous Mayo Clinic. People from all over the world become long term patients at this clinic. There is no place for use of chemicals with such severe health risks in a city which is based on the medical industry and health care practice.

Please join me in speaking up at the Rochester Minnesota City Council Meeeting...

Update #47 years ago
A support team is joining forces to spearhead a change at the local and county level! New information is coming to light regarding violation by local government of State and Federal laws. Even Rochester Public Schools are lying about their herbicide use, and putting children, employees and citizens at risk! Censorship is everywhere I turn!
Update #37 years ago
Although this petition was not included in the City Council Agenda last night, an effect could be felt when I read my speech. There are some new local connections made who will be a valuable asset in this fight! The last two meetings have had this issue brought the council's attention. We can't stop now!
Update #27 years ago
The Citizens of Rochester really stepped up to the challenge today at the Down Town Farmers' Market! Got many paper signatures, and many more people have the location of this online petition! I will be at the City Council Meeting on Wednesday, whether they like it or not! Join me there!
Update #17 years ago
Work progresses in gathering signatures to convince the Rochester City Council to ban the toxic herbicides Glyphosate and 2-4D. Proper routes were followed in dealing with the City Clerk, although his office failed to put it on the Agenda. I will still be there to present my petition, and I hope than any local supporters will be there too!
