Do Not Engage In Video Viewing of the Slow Loris That Subjects it to Undue Torture

This is a crucial issue that is aimed at the public, viewers and readers who find great pleasure in engaging in videos of cute, adorable animals. In most instances, such adorable videos are fine when it comes to the domesticated pets in families; dogs, cats, birds and so forth. When it comes to the slow Loris as pictured above, animal activists and animal welfare such as U.K.-based International Animal Rescue (IAR) confirm that a simple act of tickling the tummy of the slow Loris is unnatural. It may look and appear very adorable and cute but in reality is torture for the little guys.

This animal does not make a good pet because that is not what they are intended for; they need to be treated with respect. By continually promoting and viewing these videos, you are promoting it and the disrespect of this adorable little animal. Although it is cute, the IAR states that by raising its arms like in the video, it is a sign that the slow Loris is in distress. When in the wild, they do this to secrete a venom that is in the glands of their elbows as a way of fear and threat. Read more information surrounding the ills of watching these videos at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/06/17/slow-loris-videos_n_7606524.html.

Do not underestimate the looks of cute animals that are not meant to be held as pets and video-taped. Most often, the cute poses are misconstrued as cute when they are acts of fear, terror and distress. Stop watching these videos and promoting them. Save these animals from the unnatural by not watching these and educate all your friends and family as a way to protect them from future distress and discomfort. These animals need to live in their natural habitat and not in captivity as pets. You can help in our efforts by signing and sharing this petition everywhere possible!!

Readers & Viewers of Animal Videos – Please do not promote the abuse and cruel treatment of the slow Loris, leading to people wanting these special animals as pets. They do not do well as a domestic type pet and often endure extreme stress and discomfort. Engaging these animals in videos like the one described in the above article subjects the animal to a stressful, terrorizing situation. In witnessing these videos, people get the misconception that the animal enjoys this sort of thing and would make an excellent personal pet. Not true!! Stop viewing these videos which literally exploits the slow Loris in an unnatural setting rather than live in its own habitat. Save and protect these animals away from the limelight and living in captivity.
