Protect Badger-Two Medicine Elk, Bear, and Other Wildlife from Harmful New Drilling

  • by: Sue Lee

An energy company is demanding to drill on one-of-a-kind lands near Glacier National Park — and I need your help to protect this special place!

Located in Montana, the Badger-Two Medicine area is sacred to many in the Blackfeet Nation and home to grizzly bears, elk, cutthroat trout and other wildlife.

In the 1980s, the Reagan Administration sold 45 leases to drill in this special place for just $1 an acre. Tribal members and others have fought drilling plans for years, convincing many leaseholders to hand over their leasing claims to the Blackfeet Nation.

Now one of the few holdout leaseholders is demanding that the government allow them to drill, threatening to wreck this natural treasure with miles of new road construction, a bridge and a four-acre drilling pad.

Urge US Secretary of the Interior Department to stop this dirty drilling plan! Sign and share this petition to safeguard this culturally vital land and protect its wildlife and natural beauty.

Secretary Jewell,

I strongly urge you not deny requests to drill in the Badger-Two Medicine region near Glacier National Park.

Such a project would destroy the aspect of the area known for its recreational activities, breathtaking natural beauty and home to various wildlife.

Stop this project and any further plans to drill and keep the land as it is meant to be.

Sincerely,

[Your name]
