Demand enforcement of underage drinking laws, now!

At least 90% of teenagers surveyed in a Georgian high school have drunk alcohol, 40% of which have said they drink regularly and have drunk in the last week. This is a health concern since alcohol effects the human body in a very negative way. Alcohol abuse increases unprotected/unwanted/unintended sex leading to STIs and/or unplanned pregnancies, increases the risk of physical/sexual assault, risk of academic failure, and the risk of drug use in extreme cases. Additionally, the abuse of alcohol increases risk of alcohol poisoning which can cause alterations in brain structure and development which in consequences causes the adolescent to continue drinking through life. Furthermore, alcohol abuse can cause secondhand effects ie. loud behaviour, property destruction, unintentional injuries and violence. This is all preventable; call on your ministers to create more laws on underage drinking, propaganda against it and creating studies to try and understand the scope of the problem.
