Senator Brian Schatz has consistently evaded debate and opportunities for discussion with primary candidates as well as Republican challenger John Carroll in this year's 2016 US Senate race. The same was true in 2014 when Schatz refused debate or discussion with opponent Cam Cavasso. Do you see a pattern?

To add insult to injury, local media has largely ignored the Federal races this season, focusing almost exclusively on the mayoral race and controversy in other races. The result is little or no fair, balanced coverage. It is clear that Senator Schatz and Hawaii’s media have shown a complete disregard for the Democratic Process, thereby cheating voters out of their right to know and hear all sides and all candidates. The media should not dictate to the public who wins elections.
