Recall GE WCVH Front Loading Washing Machines due to Smoking Fire Hazard!

  • by: Jim Lucas

GE recalled 180,000 WBVH Front Loading Washing Machines because of a fire hazard but not the WCVH models which look similar if not identical. There are many owners who have reported the same problem as us with smoke billowing out of the washer during the final spin cycle.  GE responded to our inquiry by telling us the warranty has expired but they were willing to offer us a 30% discount off another model.  We contend that this is not a warranty issue but an engineering and/or manufacturing DEFECT.

We have already filed a complaint with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection along with GE, Consumer Reports, and others. If you own one of these faulty washers we suggest you do the same - there is strength in numbers!
