after the turn of the last century measurements were put in place in the wake of an economic down fall and corruption of the senate and congress To make monopolies illegal for fear the reality was that corporate America had more influence and power than the American government itself.
This was not the only piece of legislation rat hat swaps introduced and passed during the early to mid 1900's. Many states in the union who themselves had been exploited by industry and left with the repercussion of labor and natural resource exploitation, including Montana, passeit their own form of reformation.
Today we are sadly faced with an almost identical problem. Most all of those measures put in place have been repealed and replaced, with the help of legal high paying lobbyists, creating an economic climate which rivals the Great Depression. Multinational companies have pushed, quite successfully I might add, this countries laws to a pre depressionary state. Thinking of this country and its citizen as nothing more than a resource it can mine and exploit for further monetary gain. Pushing an EXTEREME capitalist formula which requires cyclical depressions in order to make extreme amounts of money at the cost of the middle and lower class. Blackmailing governments to use taxpayer money to bail them out.
Our forefathers recognised the dangers and immorality of such unethical behavior and in a government for the people, by the people, passed the Sherman act which made it illegal for any one entity to own a monopoly of any sort. The term to big to fail was meant to relax the citizens guard by the very people who rely on the fail to reap their obscene rewards.
. Please, let's take an actual step in stopping the relentless greed meant to keep us from coming together for a common goal.
