Livelihood not considered for Child Support!

Understanding a child has the right to be cared for by his/her parent is a must. Having the Child Support agency in place for this cause is definitely good for those parents who do not want to take responsibility for their child/children. However, it is not conducive for a parent who has accepted this responsibility to be left with no means to take care of themselves. The Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) requires that each parent have an Income and Expense declaration put on file to negotiate how much child support will be administered for the child/children. As a result of this requirement; DCSS does not consider valid expenses such as mortgage/rent, utility costs, groceries, and other necessities for living. If these expenses are not considered there is no possible way for a man/woman to care for the child/children on a minimal income. DCSS needs to consider the amount of income a parent has before letting the guideline rules of that particular income render any parent who tries.... HOMELESS!
