Urge Monks Bar and Brasserie to stop serving foie gras.

Please support me in this cause to stop Monks Bar and Brasserie in Machynys, to stop serving Foie Gras. This is something i'm extremely pasionate about and i'm shocked that this is being served on my door step!

Every year millions of geese are subjected to a life of cruelty, pain and suffering from this 'torture in a tin'. Pipes are forced down the birds throats several times a day to frorce huge amount of grain, maize and fat into their stomachs. As a result of this violent and cruel practice, the birds livers swell up to 10 times their normal size, many birds suffer from bruising and irritation to the oesophagus and the pipes often tear holes in the birds senstive necks, Sometimes birds internal organs rupture, causing fatal internal bleeding!

This process is so cruel that even Prince Charles has banned Foie Gras from all Royal menus!

On recent visit to your restaurant and I happened to have a look through the Christmas Menu supplement in order to see what the theme and menu was going to be for the upcoming New Year’s celebration. Whist reviewing the food choices for the evening I was horrified to see that you have foie gras on the menu. The reason for this letter is to ask to reconsider this choice and remove from this menu due to the process used in obtaining the goose liver for this pate.

Please put an end to Machynys complicity in this torture by removing foie gras from your restaurant menus immediately. There is no kind way to steal an animal's liver, and a restaurant that prides itself on its supply of high quality local produce and being a premier eatery in this area should not be selling a product too cruel to be produced. I will regrettably be boycotting your restaurant until you stop serving foie gras.
