Bring back Tyler Christopher as Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital

We are submitting this petition because we feel that it was not in the best interest of the show to not come to contract agreement of Tyler Christopher continuing as Nikolas Cassadine. We have known Tyler to play Nikolas since 1996. He has been great and has really captured the noble prince of a destructive and convoluded family. The Cassadine history is very pivotal to the history of the show and even more pivotal in some character's stories. We diehard fans of Tyler's portroyal as Nikolas know, that Tyler can give us Nikolas in ways other people cannot. The romantic, noble, loving, generous yet at the same time explosive, confident and most recently arrogant and selfish was played so well by Tyler that i'm not sure if anyone else who plays the character will be accepted.
It is a fact that since Tyler departure, fans of the show have stopped watching or have vowed to stop watching very soon. Fans who use Twitter have expressed that they have loved Tyler since he started playing the character, are glued to the TV when he makes an appearance and since he is no longer there, they will no longer watch. To my knowledge, GH was on the way to the Soap Opera graveyard like other recent Soap Operas. The ratings were low, it appeared that the writing was lackluster, focused too much on the mob storyline with not much excitement from other parts of soap. There were two storylines that not only brought GH back to noteworthy popularity but Emmys. Those storylines were of Morgan and his bipolar condition and the changing in Nikolas before our eyes. If this were not so, Bryan and Tyler would not have won Emmys, yet is looks like Bryan is not returning and Tyler's contract talks fell apart. Not sure if this is a result of ABC and GH not agreeing with Tyler on specifics on his contract, if they didn't want to diminish the roles of other characters in the upcoming year who had NOT been in categories for Emmy notifications but see major screen time, or if the writers are choosing certain characters over others without thinking about the fans. If Tyler would like to return, then we hope GH and NBC will work with him to bring him back as Nickolas. We do not know if this petition will bring Tyler back in the near future or even a few months from now but let's be honest, fans were tired of the same storyline for years involving the mob and shootings. There are other shows out there that we can get that specific type of drama and storylines from, yet GH continued to run them despite important characters in those storylines not winning Emmys for consistent years. So much so that, multiple popular characters from other shows had to be brought in and as we saw, that did not keep the ratings consistent. It seems like too many characters had left the show, Patrick, Luke, Mack, Duke, Johnny while others saw very diminished roles Spanelli, Epiphany, Olivia, Rick, TJ. It seems as something is amise. Whether it be GH is having financial difficulties, its popularity is on the verge of not returning to the Glory days and will eventually come to being only an online show until it fades into obscurity or to just be replaced by another reality show which could be a part of ABC's plans all the time. Whether either of these are true, it may be too late and it's best to create this petition as a voice for the fans of Tyler than to do it when it does come to that and it's too late. Beloved characters are not leaving just because they have other personal goals, we know that is another term for talking nice in the media to not shift the blame on your employer but because the writing of storylines was not the best, they saw something coming down the pipe and they decided they had no choice but to leave. I'm sure you can ask Sean Kanan who only came back for the writers to start to portray AJ as the character he once was and people got tired of seeing him instead of going in another direction. Sean even stated in an interview about his exit that he was not thrilled about the writing and we all say what happened to Michael Easton (Silas Clay) when he was killed off. Again, hopefully Tyler, GH and ABC can come to some type of agreement that will benefit all three in the near future. Hopefully we can get up to 13,000 people to agree, that's the goal.
