Certain areas of the Rajaji National Park is a frequent area for poachers due to a lack of laws and patrolling. We need to encourage the country to implement protection laws for the animals and have trained patrol officers guarding these havens for poachers to save the lions and elephants.
The Rajaji National Park by Dehradun, India is not a protected area that is frequented with patrols against animal abuse and cruelty. As a result, poachers are targeting the area for lions, elephants and other animals. There is no provision for patrolling by forest guards in the corridor as it is not a protected area. Last week, images of three poachers were detected on camera trap used for tiger census, a forest official said. However, they escaped before any action could be taken against them.
A proposal to bring certain areas of the division under RNP and CTR, which would ensure patrolling, is lying with the state government since the last two years. We need to encourage the government to stop procrastinating and ensure stricter laws and patrolling of these protected areas. Indian Government Officials - You have had a proposal to bring certain areas of the division under RNP and CTR to ensure patrolling of protected areas like those in the Rajaji National Park from poachers; however your proposal is still lying with the state government since the last two years. Please sign the proposal, enforce anti-poaching laws and ensure all protected areas in India be fully protected through constant patrolling.
