Information about this law: Right now, Breed Specific Legislation in Chateauguay (Quebec, Canada) allows not only the banning of specific breeds, but also allows the killing of dogs on sight, based only on the breed of dog. A dog would not have to be aggressive or even misbehave in anyway. Agents representing the City of Chateauguay are even permitted to enter private homes or the private property of any citizen if thought to be in possession of any of the breeds banned by the city. Breeds that are banned:Bull terrier, Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier and all cross or hybrid breeds of these. Even dogs with same characteristics of these breeds would be included.
What we need done: Put a stop to Breed Specific Legislation (Breed discrimination). Call for a law that prohibits dangerous dogs (no matter what the breed). We need to protect family pets that are properly raised and properly socialised.

Ce que nous devons faire : Abolir la loi sur les races de chiens (discrimination de race). Demander une loi qui empêche les chiens dangereux (quelle que soit la race). Nous devons protéger les animaux de compagnie qui sont bien élevés et bien intégrés socialement.
« Nous, les soussignés, demandons le changement suivant à la loi (qui cible certains races de chiens spécifiquement) de Châteauguay : changer la loi pour clarifier qu’aucune race n’est ciblée comme dangereuse ».
