Tell Congress to Fund Clean Water for Flint Residents!

Flint, Michigan's state of emergency ended in August, leaving the state to foot the bill for clean water needs. The expense is expected to amount to $3.5 million per month.

Michigan only put aside $6 million for clean water needs, so Flint's residents will be forced to shoulder the burden of bottled water and filters. Many impoverished citizens are unable to afford these needs. Meanwhile, their tap water still contains unsafe levels of lead.

Virginia Tech engineering professor Marc Edwards states, "The Flint system is on its way to recovery, [but] no one is saying the water is safe to drink yet,"

Flint's water crisis is not over yet, and their residents need access to clean drinking water. Please sign the petition to urge Congress to approve funding to meet citizens' needs for bottled water and filters!

I am concerned that the citizens of Flint, Michigan will be forced to drink unsafe water because they can't afford bottled water and filters.
