Cats are KILLING Our Native Environment!

  • by: John K

What can we do? The National Audubon Society reports Cats KILL somewhere between 1.3 and 4 Billion Birds every year in the US alone; Globally its Horrific!

Feral and Free Roaming Cats are a public health nightmare! Feral cats can transmit diseases to humans, other wildlife and other cats, including cat scratch fever, plague, rabies, ringworm, salmonellosis and toxoplasmosis; so why are studies so vitally dismissed?

These studies have shown that Feral Cats are an increasingly serious threat to endangered species Globally, of latest, contracting Bird Flue!

As a Wildlife Advocate, I have seen these sickly and starving animals and their affects, First Hand. Some of the many findings of numerous reports have concluded that: Feral cats meet the definition of an invasive species and pose a threat to native fauna and public health.

Cats are responsible, just in the USA, for the Extinction of at least 33 species of just birds alone! Cats kill far more Native Wildlife Species than nuisance (invasive) species. Cats deprive our Natural Wildlife of food, by disrupting the Food Chain. Cats will kill wildlife no matter how well they are fed; they kill for sport & play.

TNR Doesn’t Work!

Accordingly, I ask You to help petition your State and Local Governments, to take action and raise awareness about Feral and Free-Roaming Cats, create more Responsible Cat owners by;

Promoting Legislation, in controlling these issues through Attrition, registration and microchipping (to include leash laws) before it’s too late! Hopefully we can raise awareness and make a difference!

Together, we can stop this suffering and protect our Natural Wildlife.

To our Petitioners: First I “Do Not” Condone killing cats. I understand/agree with TNR as it stabilizes “some feral cat populations, and ensures that cats and humans are protected against disease’. This would dwindle the feral population through attrition, “only with” more regulations and responsible cat owners. I have lived in all types of settings seeing many cats, noting their impact (positive & negative) from City, Urban, Suburban, Farm and now Wilderness. Thank you.
