The Electoral College was set up to protect the American people from being duped. We need them now! The Electoral College does their formal vote on December 19th. If there were a lot of pressure on them to change and support the popular vote, they MIGHT do it. But we need a lot of social pressure!
Many or even most citizens didn't take Donald Trump seriously, but since he has been elected, he has shown that he is not going to make decisions that help the under employed middle class people who counted on his help so desperately. His deal with Carrier was not different than the other deals that gave big companies money while they took jobs out of the country to third world employees who would accept lower pay.
He has made a number of questionable decisions about foreign policy, ignoring the years of negotiations that have helped maintain peace with China and Russia, for example. He told the dictator in the Philippines, who is killing those who disagree with him, that he is handling his problems the "right way". He chose a Secretary of the Treasury who has taken their homes from many people through bank manipulations. He named as head of the Environmental Protection Agency a man who doesn't believe in climate change when even the Navy recognizes that climate change is threatening our naval bases along the East Coast.
Donald Trump seems to be making a lot of his choices to enrich the wealth of his own family and of his billionaire friends. While no one would be surprised about such decisions on a personal level, that is not what we expect from our President. We, the American people, need to be saved from this President elect.
