St. Landry Parish Council Member Needs Immediate Removal! Animal Lives are at stake!

It has been brought to our attention, (and for some of us, brought to light once again) that fellow Council Member, Timmy Lejeune does not, nor has he ever supported the mission of the St. Landry Animal Shelter. Mr. Lejeune is obviously NOT in favor of saving the lives of homeless, abandoned and helpless animals in St. Landry Parish.

In a recent display at our local Tractor Supply Store, where he aggressively approached two members of our local animal advocacy group who were purchasing food for donation to our local shelter. In an embarrassing display, he told the members that "All incoming animals should be euthanized upon arrival.", while making a two fingered shooting at the head gesture in the process. He further attempted to grab the food out of their buggy and demand that they pay for HIS dog food instead! He then added that there was "no need for an animal shelter and that the cost outweighs the need!

With his lack of objectivity in feeling that SLP should not have an animal shelter and that animals should be killed on admission, he should not be in a position of decision and policy making regarding the shelter, not to mention his unethical, unprofessional behavior and undermining insulting comments to well-meaning SLP citizens.

We ask either he tender his resignation from the St. Landry Parish Council, or that other, more well meaning members demand that he be removed immediately as he does NOT represent the people of this great Parish nor should he have any say in Parish Policy when he is obviously biased in thinking that the people of this Parish view animals are disposable.

Attitudes like this need to change, and they need to change NOW. We the people of St. Landry Parish will not let people like this represent us. Make your voices heard and demand action on this petition.
