Reopen Stafford Hospital's A+E Out of Hours Service

As you know, the A&E Department at The County Hospital is not 24 hours. The department is open 8am – 10pm every day.

A&E is located at The County Hospital, Weston Road, Stafford, ST16 3SA. Car parking is available immediately outside the department.

As you may of noticed Stafford is growing bigger, more houses going up in Wildwood, littleworth and beaconside. This poses a really danger to the already over stretched ambulance service who are covering a wide area during out of hours.

It's not just the residents that rely on County Hospitals Out of hours service, its the infrastructure that also rely on it to.

The HMP,StGeorges and the local care homes all need a accessible hospital - closing County Hospitals Out of hours service has put huge pressure on the ambulance service and cost to the tax payer, as when ambulances are not available these organisations have to rely on out of hours taxis which don't come cheap.

There is also an argument that constant long distance ambulance and taxi journeys are not good for the environment. Were in a climate where we are supposed to be minimising the emissions released.

In addition the alternative hospitals are struggling to cope.
