Don't Let Wind Farms Kill Bald Eagles!

According to a 2012 Wildlife Society Bulletin study, an estimated 888,000 bats and 573,000 birds are killed each year by windmill blades. This includes dozens of golden and bald eagles and other rare species.

The Obama administration has failed to prosecute wind industries for their violations of the Migratory Bird Act and the Eagle Protection Act, and the federal government continues to subsidize wind power. On Friday, December 6, 2013, the Obama administration said they will continue allowing wind companies to kill or injure these birds with no fear of prosecution for up to 30 years.

Power sources that kill rare native birds and beneficial bats without a care are not "green." Wind power companies must be held accountable for their violations of wildlife protection laws, and should work to monitor their windmills and create barriers to minimize animal fatalities. Please sign the petition to urge the government to take action to stop the illegal killing of wildlife on wind farms!

The Obama administration has so far failed to prosecute wind industries for their violations of the Migratory Bird Act and the Eagle Protection Act, and the federal government continues to subsidize wind power. We are shocked to learn that on Friday, December 6, 2013, the Obama administration said they will continue allowing wind companies to kill or injure these birds with no fear of prosecution for up to 30 years.

We respectfully urge you to take action to stop the illegal killing of wildlife on wind farms! Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
