These Animals Are In Danger. 300 Football fields worth of beautiful rainforest is destroyed every hour throughout South East Asia to make room for palm oil plantations. This large-scale deforestation is pushing Orangutans towards extinction. If nothing changes, it is likely that this gorgeous creature could become extinct within the next 5-10 years.

Palm Oil is used in just about everything we consume, from baked goods and confectionery to soap, cosmetics and toothpaste. 50 million tonnes of palm oil is produced yearly to supply 30% of the world's vegetable oil production. This vegetable oil can be found in 40-50% of household products within Australia as well as the United States, Canada and England.

In just twenty years, over 3.5 million hectares of precious rainforest has been obliterated to make way for palm oil. Almost 80% of Orangutan habitat has vanished.

We are losing over 6,000 Orangutans in a year.

This desolation must stop.
