In August 2012... Sapphire was found in the town of Verona NY... at 19 lbs with a Chain inbedded in his neck. As of today he is 58 lbs and healed but left with many scars. The town of Verona payed over 2500 in vet bills to heal this boy, and the town of Verona dog warden saved his life !!!!.. We are asking for the courts to give the woman who did this Bridget Laclair an LPN from Verona the Maximum sentence.. and to pay restitution to the town of Verona. This does two things.. one will give her a felony charge, and two will help the next dog that they find by making sure the towns know they will get their money back .. and hold her accountable for the dog she almost killed.
This story ran when it first happened... but nothing since.. and we are afraid it will just go by the wayside and she will get off !!! Please help us stop that from happening..
Sapphire is sweet and kind and an overgrown puppy. He was never shown anything... The suffering this boy went through is unimaginable. She left him tied to a tree with NO food No water.. the only thing that saved this boys life was the maggots that kept his wound from becoming infected... and he still loves every person he meets !!!...
SAPPHIRE deserves justice.. and while the laws in NY state are not adequate... they are what we have.. Please sign this pettition so we can tell the District attorney and the judge ... Animal abusers cannot go unpunished. It needs to cost them their lively hood, their freedom and money !!!...

We want Justice for Sapphire. This story has been swept under the carpet by the media.. no one seems to care about an American Bull Dog who weighs 58 lbs that was left to starve with a collar inbedded in his neck.at 19 lbs a few months ago. As Sapphires Friends we want people to know we care. We are asking that the District Attorney, the Judge, and everyone involved hold Bridget LaClair who is a LPN Accountable!!!... This woman is trusted to take care of people, while she lets her dogs STARVE!!!...
1. Give her the maximum sentence allowed by NY state Law and Maximum fines..
2. Make her pay back the town of Verona for medical Bills and housing of this boy while he healed.
3 Make it impossible for her to ever own a dog again
4. Make her send a letter to every shelter and Rescue organization within 50 miles telling them what she did, and why she did it and asking them never to give her a dog .
5. Make her tell people why she did what she did.
Justice is about accountability.
