Parabens are Out of Control - Stop Them Now!

Parabens are xenoestrogens, meaning they mimic estrogen. They are surprisingly common, and found in many personal care products from shampoo to lotion to chapstick. The build up of these compounds over the years has begun to produce startling problems around us:

Early puberty in girls: Fetuses are extremely sensitive to any hormones, and females have been developing at a much younger age than ever before, due to their exposure in the womb and the chemicals passed from the mother through breast milk.

Fish feminization: When we wash off all of the care products with xenoestrogens, they go into our wastewater treatment plants, which aren't meant to deal with hormones. They pass through unchanged and the male fish exposed to these estrogen-mimicking compounds begin to develop ovaries and eggs, causing sterility.

Breast cancer: Parabens have not been proven to cause breast cancer, however, they were found - intact - inside a breast cancer tumor.

By signing this petition, I also ask that you stop using products with these compounds. Stay safe!
