Bayou Vista Water Billing System

After having my water cut off again because the water company never sent a bill I decided to look into it only to be told by the lady in the office there is no one I can complain to. She went on to say they cant help anyone either because they turned off 7 pages worth of peoples water. Whenever I inquired when they sent the mail out she went on to tell me they sent it out Wed. So by Tuesday they expected everyone to have their bill on time and know there was a late fee. That means all those bills had to be sorted and sent out within 3 business days. That doesnt sound even a little reasonable. To continue my complaint theres a $50 fee to get water turned back on. So you get $50 for every name on 7 sheets of paper. You're telling me 7 sheets of names worth of people are just irresponsible and just did not want to pay their bill? I'm not buying it. Maybe if it was 1 or 2 sheets they could blame the post office but not this time. Plus wheres all that money going. Normally the cut of is around the 6th or 7th of every month but for the month of December. Christmas Time. They decide to make it early? Why? Never had it been that early before? Whose getting the money people worked hard to save for their families Christmas that was taken away because the water company cant be consistent? Where's all that money going? Is it really going back to the city because if so then they should have more than enough to set up a decent billing system for people who cannot access the internet or have checking accounts to be automatically drawn from.

I say in order to fix this problem the mail needs to be sent out sooner. Not 3 days before a due date. Also if youre going to have a due date keep it consistent. She told me they couldnt do that because they closed on weekends and the same days dont always fall the same way. Well yes this is true, but say the 8th is a Saturday or Sunday and thats the day they choose as cut off. Then the first Monday after the 8th should be your last chance to pay. Then whoever doesnt pay gets cut off Tuesday and they have a whole work week to come up with money to get it back on. Seems reasonable to me. That way if the person in charge of mail sends it out late at least everyone is on the same page NOT just the water office. Also why is it the person in charge of sending the mail out not veing held responsible for waiting last minute? Where is her proof that she even sent out the mail? I haven't talked to anyone in my area who has actually gotten the bill to begin with. Where did they go? Why are they not here? Wheres the proof she sent it?? When??? They should put the date the mail was sent out on the bill to prove the day. Pointing fingers and blaming the post office is helping no one.
