The 2020 Presidential Race is the most important Exercise of Democracy in our country. Yet, New Jersey's independent voters are prohibited from voting in the primaries.
• 40% of New Jersey voters are registered as unaffiliated; more than in either party.
• The two parties have rigged the system so that most Elections are decided in the primaries.
• Independent voters are forced to register with one of the parties in order to vote in a Primary.
• No one should be required to register in a Party to exercise their right to vote.
• Our State tax dollars pay for the Primaries.
• The Democratic and Republican Parties have the ability to Open the Primaries to Independent Voters.
• We call on the State Chairs John Currie (DP) and Doug Steinhardt (RP), party leaders and elected officials to Open the Primaries to independents.
