After a life of mistreatment in which she was chained and fed inappropriate food, Lakshmi or Laxmi (that is our baby girl in the photo above) was rescued in 2013 by Wildlife SOS.
Mumbai's State Forest Department gave Wildlife SOS legal custody of Laxmi. For the past several months, she has been living a good life, becoming healthier and leaner.
But now Laxmi's owner wants her back -- we have to stop this!
The next court hearing for Laxmi is supposed to happen after 15th June. We are trying hard to raise funds to meet the legal expenses. Please spread the word and get as many people as you can to sign this petition.
You can go to BiddingForGood.com to help buy nutrition food for Laxmi. You can also go to the LaxmiFund at Crowdrise.com to help contribute to her legal fund. There is more information about Laxmi on this Facebook page:
Thank you for helping to save Laxmi!
