STOP FACEBOOK FROM ENCOURAGING ANIMAL ABUSE!

ccSTOP FACEBOOK FROM ENCOURAGING ANIMAL ABUSE!

As of Aug 4, 2019, Facebook is targeting animal and welfare and pet groups to be shut down. They are using rules which purport to stop backyard breeders, but they are causing many times more animal suffering and abuse than they are ending.

The guideline/rule suddenly being used to target animal and pet groups bans members from selling animals. This is a good goal in theory, but in fact it means that lost, homeless, and other animals needing adoption cannot have adoption fees, which are crucial to keep them from being taken for non pet purposes, such as illegal experiments and to be fed to other animals.

We are demanding these changes in rules (Information below):

1 Stray animals, pets, and other animals needing homes can have reasonable adoption fees.

2 Once Facebook has identified a possible violation in a group, a human looks to make sure the group is not a backyard breeder group. This will be obvious in most cases. After that the group is no longer in danger of being shut down.

3 All animal welfare, pet, and other groups which have been shut down due to the recent crackdown shall be reinstated as they were.
