The residents of Venetian Causeway are completely in danger if they close off vehicular access to Miami Beach while allowing the Westernmost bridge to open and close for boat traffic. We realize this is a federal waterway and they must allow for this - However: we are asking that Miami-Dade County, the FDOT, and the Coastguard to collaborate and decide how we will continue to have access to Miami-Beach throughout the repair. Whether this means a temporary bridge as they have done years prior - whether one lane will stay open at a time - or whether they just decide to keep the easternmost bridge locked down permanently (which is the resident’s and first responder’s first choice). Please find a better solution for the welfare of the residents of Venetian Causeway.
