Give Lowndes girls a fair dress code!

In Lowndes County, MS, the temperature can get into the 100s, yet the female students are not allowed to wear shorts, tank tops, or ripped jeans. I'm not referring to booty shorts, spaghetti straps, or jeans that are 1% cloth and 99% holes--im talking about clothes that won't make students suffer in rooms without air conditioning, school busses, and for some, walks home. The dress code is completely unfair. Also, it is against the school rules for ANYONE to bring water bottles to school; we cannot have water unless we buy it from vending machines :) so yes, our school may very well be putting our health at risk. Also, the boys at our school often wear mid-thigh shorts that we, girls, are not allowed to wear!

**Edit**: the school cheerleaders wear their uniforms to school on game days. These uniforms come up to about the bottom of a palm whenever the arms are to the sides. Despite this, female students who are not cheerleaders don't get to wear shorts that are longer than the uniforms. So as you can see, there are major double standards within the dress code.
