Demand Online Safety from social platforms against Harmful videos marketed to children

So it's been recently circulating and being reported around the social media platforms, that there's videos on YouTube and YouTube for kids that instructs children how to commit harmful acts to themselves and possibly others. The video is searched as "MOMO". This video is being uploaded via video platforms and reposted on multiple accounts and even if it's being flagged or reported it's still there for children to look up and search. And this isn't just about children. It's about people who may have had a thought of harming them selves, committing suicide or hurting another person because they see it validated in a "challenge video".

I believe the corporations like YouTube, and other video and social media platforms should be held accountable for recognizing harmful material on these sites. I believe these platforms need to take every measure to assure videos and manipulation propaganda be stopped. Now You may ask what's manipulation propaganda?

It's when someone can manipulate someone through stories, videos, social media posts etc with harmful images that may suggest hurting themselves and others through violent acts.

We have a right as viewers, parents and concerned citizens to be protected and to protect our children, teens and even adults even online. So the corporations and business also need to have that similar feeling as the need for digital environments becomes second nature.

YouTube should remove this video and make sure that the screening process for uploading content is a more strenuous and thorough process.

Currently it's more generalized by categories like Entertainment, How to and style, etc. and yes uploading to YouTube should have a review process prior to upload and yes some bloggers and vloggers may find this petition harmful to their free speech but it's not about free speech wholeheartedly. It's about safety. It's about causing public frenzy with violent actions and words.

Now some may respond, well add account filters, parental blocking, video monitoring and video reporting to expose these kinds of videos. YES - we can do all of that and most parents have probably done so.

But what about the few whose children have access regardless outside the home, or teens who watch on their phones or adults who are in a state of distress and come across this content? Extra measures have to be taken on these platforms. Even in the reposting and sharing of this particular Video MOMO. The pictures and image is so Horrifying that I was even scared to search it on YouTube.

To learn more about this Harmful video please search /google Momo challenge. I didn't want leave a link because it's a very scary photo and images.
