Save the Pink Dolphin from Extinction in Hong Kong and Taiwan!

The Indo-Pacific Humpback dolphin is a rare dolphin species native to Taiwan and Hong Kong coasts that starts out grey, then turns a pretty, bright pink with age. They tend to live only two to three kilometers from shore. Like other dolphins, they have complex social structures and communicate through whistling.

These unique marine mammals may soon disappear completely thanks to industrial expansion and pollution.

Industrial activity near Hong Kong's and Taiwan's coasts has been polluting the dolphins' environment, and boat and construction noise has been drowning out dolphin communication. New expansion projects including a third runway at Hong Kong's airport will further compromise the dolphins' environment.

Please sign the petition to convince authorities to create environmental legislation that will put dolphins' lives above industrial expansion.

We, the undersigned, are concerned about the future of the Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphin, a rare pink dolphin species native to Taiwan and Hong Kong coasts. These dolphins have complex social structures and communicate through whistling. They tend to live only two to three kilometers from shore. Industrial activity near Hong Kong's and Taiwan's coasts has been polluting the dolphins' environment, and boat and construction noise has been drowning out dolphin communication. New expansion projects including a third runway at Hong Kong's airport will further compromise the dolphins' environment. We believe that dolphins' lives are more important than these industrial expansion projects, and reducing polluting practices in factories will make the environment healthier for humans and dolphins alike. We respectfully urge you to educate the public against supporting businesses that pollute the environment, and to create legislation that will reduce pollution and excessive noise.
