West Virginians were proud to be amongst the first states to ban animal gas chambers with the passing of SB 501 back in 2009 despite the grandfather clause that allowed their use for the life of the equipment. But it is now 2013 four years down the line & despite the bill West Virginia is still gassing animals on a regular basis. This is unacceptable! The whole issue here is NOT about getting full value from this equipment it is about being decent & humane. In passing SB 501 your state acknowledged that gassing is wrong yet you still find back door ways to allow it ~ Was SB 501 simply a ruse to keep animal advocates quiet?!
Funding is now available from the HSUS & the HS to facilite the change from gas chamber to EBI,
So we the undersigned are asking you to abide by the law that you passed in 2009, please recind the Grandfather clause & STOP useing Animal Gas Chambers
