Stand with International Medical Corps and End the Spread of Polio

"The polio resurgence is preventable and it is time to pull out an old but proven technique to halt its spread: Days of Tranquility." - International Medical Corps President and CEO Nancy Aossey and former U.S. Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo and International Medical Corps Senior Advisor for Global Strategy William Garvelink

By being on the ground in places like Somalia, its border regions, the conflict zones around Syria, and along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, International Medical Corps can attest to the resurgence of polio in these areas and the disastrous effect it’s having, especially on young children.

By using a tactic called Days of Tranquility, insurgents and governments negotiate a cease-fire, allowing humanitarian groups to reach children trapped by fighting and immunize them against infectious diseases, such as polio.

Children around the world don’t have to experience the debilitating and life-long effects of many diseases like polio. Please stand with us and call for Days of Tranquility to stop the spread of this deadly disease.
