Dogs in classrooms have been shown to:

* Teach Empathy and Compassion

* Decrease Bullying and Conflicts among both Teachers and Students

* Raise IQ levels

* Encourage Respect for Authority

* Provide New Opportunities for Learning

Dogs are also known to:

* Protect Companions from Harm

* Encourage Relaxation

* Diffuse Tension

It has come to the attention of the students of New Albany High School that Miss.Richely and Mrs.Leeman are no longer allowed to bring Dunkin and Molly, their certified therapy dogs, to school any longer. These dogs were not only a friendly companion to every student they came in contact with, but also a very calming asset to the hectic enviroment that we call school. Having service dogs at our school allows for students to be able to enjoy a little peice of happiness in their day. By signing this petition, we are stating that we support bringing back service/therapy dogs to New Albany high School and we beleive that they change NAHS for the better.
