Healthier Lunch Options Needed In All School Cafeterias.

Schools across Ontario are constantly promoting healthy eating and making good choices when it comes to nutrition to ensure a healthy lifestyle. What school cafeterias have been offering to students as daily lunches does not support this cause, whatsoever.

There are many students who rely on the school cafeteria for their lunch every single day, and the fact that options only consist of various pasta dishes, burgers and even poutine, is not having a positive impact of these students' health. This change would to be to benefit the lives of students, one school at a time, I care about the well-being of my peers and I don't believe that when they step into the cafeteria that they must choose from an assortment of processed, oily, unhealthy options.

What schools need are more vegetarian meals prepped for the increasing number of students who are choosing not to eat meat, as well as fruit bowls rather than cookies and muffins, and containers with various veggies and dips, instead of bags of chips. These small replacements will have a lasting effect on students, and will surely give them the nutrients they need, that they are certainly not getting from what is sold in the cafeteria now.

I would appreciate anyone who would sign this petition. A healthy lifestyle is extremely important, and we all need to nourish our bodies properly in order to have the energy to reach our fullest potential in our daily lives.
