30 million Americans suffer fron severe chronic pain. The cdc is proposing guidelines that will take away up to 95% of the pain medication that people who have tried everything first from physisial therapy to epidurals to meditation and any other method before using opioid pain relievers to get through the day. There are 30 million people that take their medication as directed and have for decades. The Cdc and Prop (a group of doctors that own a chain of rehab clinics around the country). Decided that pain relievers dont work. This is a big lie. Because .002% of the prescriptions written pre 2014 got the hands of drug addicts the other 29,998,000 Americans that take their medication as directed will now have to live with chronic disabling pain. These guideline were put together illegally. they did not get any consultation from pain doctors or pain patients. Both sides were not heard. In the past 5 years the DEA was able to create a national data base so nobody can hop from doctor to doctor and fill multiple prescriptions, pill mills have been shut down around the country. they have already made it incredibly difficult for actual patients to receive the medication that enables them to live with minimal pain. they must go to doctor every month because no refills are allowed. Now keep in mind we are not talking about street junkies. We are talking about injured war Vets that came back having to live the rest of their lives in agonizing pain, citizens that have unoperable spinal conditions, fibromialga etc. Opioid therapy has been.proven to work for these people for decades and they shouldnt be lumped in the street thugs. They are like diabetics that need insulin on a daily basis. every body needs different doses and types. Putting a max dose on a chronic pain patient is no different then a max dose of insulin on a diabetic. This must be stopped. Because of the thousands of complaints, the cdc opened a time to comment for those effected with chronic pain at regulations.gov. if you couldnt tell, I too suffer from extreme pain on a daily basis. i have both spinal and cervical stenosis, degenerative disc desease and suffer from migranes. About 8 years ago the pain started to co.e on slowly. Like most people that work hard i was in a world of hurt by the end of the day. As time went on the pain became worse and worse. Finally i went to the ER. Afrer an xray the doctor came running in with a collar and sent me to an orthopedic. He said i would need a minimum of 3 surgeries to correct the situation, and there are no guarantees.
He said i could try physacal therapy first. So i did, It made it worse. After about a year of pain and being on disability, It was suggested to me to try pain management. He did 2 epidurals and other injections to no avail. Finally I asked for pain medication. His response was a swift are your sure you dont want the surgery. I said no way. Ill end up like a broom handle and be in more pain then i am now.
With that said it took about 6 months to get a dose storng enugh for me to be almost pain free and able to work again. Because of all of the nerve damage throughout my spine and the arthritis that had formede it took a very high dose.. I found it strange that i was not feeling euphoric as i hear about all of the people that use these recreationally. My doctor said as long as you take as directed you wont. I take approx 1200 mg of morphene eq daily and all it does is relieve my pain. Ia no different then 20 million others that dont abust pain relievers. They help us have a productive happy life.
The CDC and PROP want to take that freedom away from us and have us bedridden and on disability for life.
Please sign the petition so this government wont become our doctors and cant tell us whats best for us. We are not drug seeking addicts
Those people will find drugs, the heroin epidemic is everywhere and junkies now find it easier to get heroin then pain relievers. We deserve the best medication available and for the last 2000 years opioid pain medication has been the gold standard.
