Make burning the American Flag illegal!

    Everyday I turn on the news I am always hearing of people desecrating burning the American flag and by doing this we are . In 1962 the supreme court ruled that the desecration of the American flag is protected by the first amendment. why is it alright to burn an american flag but if i burn an lgbtq flag i could be charged with a hate crime felony?
