Please sign and share this petition in an effort to take further steps that will save the grizzly bear from existence in the Pacific Northwest as they were meant to be according to Indian legend. The numbers have been dropping drastically. We are trying to urge the Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to take necessary steps so that the grizzly bear can make a comeback and live in its natural habitat.

The grizzly bear is close to be a figure of legend in the Pacific Northwest. It was animal that was revered by the Indians for centuries. However, these animals seem to exist only in legend since their numbers are dwindling drastically. Because of their fleeting numbers, some people believe there may be no bears left in the areas of the Cascade Mountains that splits Washington State.

The federal government is working on reintroducing the grizzly bears, a federally protected animal, back to the area where they normally existed at one time. Environmentalists believe that "If all things go well, bears on the ground three or four years from now will increase and save them from extinction due to the possible bear reintroduction. Such a plan has been working successfully in areas such as the Yellowstone National Parks and surrounding land due to their habitat protection. Farther north, the plan also saved the grizzly bear from endangerment in Glacier National Park and other nearby wilderness.

Conservationists are now hoping to bring back the existence of the grizzlies to the northwestern United States through a reintroduction program and protection of their habitat. We need to support their efforts in saving the grizzly bear from extinction and endangerment throughout the areas of their former hunting grounds of the great Cascade Mountains. By signing and sharing this petition nationwide on all your media sites, you can help in saving and protecting this beautiful Grizzly Bear.

Officials with the Conservation Northwest Environmentalists, Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service - We urge you to move forward in the plan to reintroduce the grizzly bear back into their natural habitat of the Cascade Mountains. Your plan needs to be thoroughly evaluated for the betterment of the bears as well as concerned hikers and others in the area. Hikers fear such a proposal would lead to road and trail closures. Consider reintroducing the grizzlies in certain areas of the Cascades only that would not danger the life of the free-spirited hikers and other outdoorsman. Since their numbers are so depleted, something needs to be done to save these bears from extinction in the Northwestern areas of the United States.
