Animal cruelty in Uzbekistan

Dear volunteers for protection of animal rights. My name is Dinara. I live in Uzbekistan in the city of Fergana. Situation regarding animal rights in my country made me search for help from the animal right protectors from other countries. Here is why.. In my country the situation dealing with homeless animals went out of control and it's all happening at the state level. Government organization for dealing with homeless animals are exercising cruel methods to solve the problem. Members of the organization are lure homeless animals by placing pieces of meat or sausages with poison, nails or brocken pieces of glas inside in places where homeless animals gather. As a result of this cruel actions cats, dogs, hedgehogs and even little birds die in agony. Members of the organisation also practice physical violence against homeless animals, by hitting them with heavy metal objects on their heads to result fatality of the animals. Animals they decide to capture they keep in the territory of the organisation, which requires by law to keep them there for 5 days. Captured animals will be caged in dangerous conditions for them outside in summer by +40 degrees C or in winter by -10 degrees C without beverages or food supply. If within 5 days animals won't be picked up by anybody, captured animals will be killed. This situation was going on for a long time and despite people's complaints nothing was done about it. To address this problem to public and sensiblize people volunteers, members of informal organisation of animals rights, reporters and bloggers gathered on 7.09.2020 together. On this gathering we provided evidence  (in form of photos and videos) to show to the public violence they exercise against homeless animals. After this actions we managed to reach to a manager of the organisation for dealing with homeless animals in the city and they agreed for public members to come and feed captured animals and free them after 5 days of capturing, which we are very grateful about. We also managed to collect signatures from other volunteers to further reach other members of the government. We consider this achievement as a big step for better future of homeless animals. We are planing on opening of shelter for homeless animals, which we don't have in our city. For opening shelters we need allowance from the government, but they don't want to provide us territory for it. Our hands are unfortunately tied without any financial support from the government and we don't have enough resources. We are in need of financial support as well as public attention.
