Join hands to end the invisible epidemic, Period Poverty

88% women in the world do not have access to sanitary products and resort to using socks, old rags, newspapers, toilet papers, plastic bags to tackle their periods. 71% girls in India don't even have any idea about periods until they have their first one. Only 12% women in India use sanitary napkins. Girs dropout of school just because the can't afford menstrual products. Moreover, using newspapers, rags, ect leads to cervical cancer and later death.

Sanitary pads aren't luxury, they are a necessity. Every girl deserves to be clean and hygienic during her periods. Its time we address this unnoticed epidemic and take action. Rural public health centres should supply sanitary pads to women for free. Proper and serious sex education should compulsorily be given in all schools. Pad vending machines should be installed in all public washrooms. Government schools should provide free sanitary pads to all girls students, so that they will not drop out of school because they were born with an Uterus.
