Put an End to Bullying, Now!

At Yorkville High School, bullying happens quite often. When cases of bullying are reported, they tend to just give a small lecture and send them on their way. The school seems to not care about bullying. They claim to be "Anti-Bullying" but do nothing to try and put a stop to it. In order to stop bullying from continuing as much, the school should be more strict with punishment. A small lecture doesn't do anything in the favor of the student who is being bullied. The bully may continue doing it if they aren't given any punishment. The student may be going through other problems, and bullying only makes it worse. We as the student believe that bullying should be more punishable, such as a fine for the parents (depending on the severity), detention, suspension. We believe that this would slow down the bullying and possibly end up stopping it from progressing. Less symptoms of mental illness may play a role, if bullying isn't as much of a problem as it is now.
