Support NYC's Styrofoam Ban!

On Wednesday, February 6th, an NYC sanitation official revealed that a ban on polystyrene foam (commonly called Styrofoam) is being considered as part of efforts to increase recycling rates.

Polystyrene is notoriously difficult to recycle, and can take centuries to decompose. Recycling polystyrene is difficult, as few plants in the U.S. will take it, and transporting it elsewhere is costly and unsustainable.

Fast food eateries and independant establishments alike have successfully switched from polystyrene to paper, cardboard or foil packaging. Phasing out the material will cut waste without harming restaurants. Please sign the petition to support a ban on Styrofoam in NYC!
