Recall Kenneth Tarket, Highpointe Metro District Board Member, Windsor CO

  • recipient: Highpointe Estates Residents

To get the board recalled we need at least 40% of the residents to sign all 6 petitions (1 per board member needed per the statutes).
If you have already signed a hard copy peition to recall Kenneth, please do not sign this one.

Concerns unaddressed by the current board:

1. Why do residents of metro district two now own the debt of Highpointe Metro District Vista One, which will soon be dissolved.
2. Why are the residents of metro district two responsible for the legal fees of district one.
3. Residents are paying for the legal counsel (Alan Pogue) retained by the current board, paying for time and travel from Denver. In 2016, $60,000 was spent on legal fees, part of which was to defend the board against the residents.
4. The current board is trying to appoint people to the board in lieu of allowing the neighborhood to decide. There is significant concern that the current board is simply facilitating a new "puppet" board.
5. There is continued concern with Centennial Consulting Group, the current management company and why they have control over us as residents. Tax financial details and board meeting minutes are not published for six months at a time, they have the office at the Highpointe clubhouse under their lock and key, and are rarely there to service residents. They do not enforce the ARB guidelines and covenants, unless someone calls them to complain, or they choose to enforce them selectively on targeted residents. Inconsistencies are rampant.
6. Concerns how services and vendors are acquired are not competitively bid. Particularly landscaping services, which is currently done using Bob Thompson, a relative to a current board member.
7. The legality of the $300 assessment fee is in question.
8. The current board is looking to increase the mill levy for the neighborhood from 35 to 50 Mills, resulting in higher property taxes for our residents.
9. The current board has not budgeted to put any monies into a reserve fund, resulting in deficiencies in the community budget.
10. The board wants to spend $3000 to study how to put money in reserve.

All of these issues beg the question, "how this board is effectively and efficiently managing our money and neighborhood." Help us to recall Kenneth so we can get fresh eyes on the situation.
