Our goal is to stop the sale of e-cigarettes in our town! Over the past few years, the percentage of high school student's use of e-cigarettes has gone up from 11.7% to 20.8%! We don't want any more students getting addicted to these unhealthy devices. E-cigarettes are a smokeless tobacco product. Such products have chemical linked to the following cancers: Lung cancer, Stomach cancer, Bladder cancer, and Esophageal cancer. Other related diseases are Heart disease and Respiratory diseases like Emphysema, which causes difficulty breathing. All of the above are terrible things that should be prevented at all costs. Our goal is not only to stop the sale, but to stop the illegal use of e-cigarettes among teenagers. There is a gas station in Rye called Rye Mobile Mart. This gas station is very close to popular places among high school students, such as the Rye YMCA, Starbucks, Longfords, and the Rye Free Reading Room. Another popular store is Jerry's post road market. This is one of the most popular stores among students in Rye, and sells Juul pods.
